Dramatherapy

Dramatherapy is a Creative Arts Psychotherapy that uses the healing aspects of drama and theatre to explore and reflect on feelings, thoughts, relationships, environments and behaviours.

The use of story and metaphor provides a safe distance from which to explore material, offers perspectives from which to gain new understanding and empowers positive life changes.

This body-orientated modality draws upon theatrical as well as therapeutic knowledge, offering a unique approach that does not rely on words.

Sessions can involve: play, story-telling, improvisation, puppetry, movement, music and art and are appropriate for all ages from child to older adult.

The aim of the work is not to perform but to work with the healing aspects of drama at our own pace, so there is no expectation for drama skills or prior experience.
